DC4M Circular Series Dummy Connector — Overview

The DC4M is a pressure-proof dummy connector (protective cap) for 4-contact Circular series connectors, male (pins, fits female connectors). It seals the contact face when the connector is unmated, keeping seawater, sediment and mechanical damage away from the gold-plated contacts.

Why Use a Dummy Connector

• Protects the contact face: gold plating corrodes and fouls quickly when left open to seawater; a capped connector mates like new after months of storage.
